Getting beyond the headless issue, isn't it grand to see The Dress again? Unusually for a royal wedding gown it did not glitter with crystals and sequins. The lace and embroidery were so subtle that they weren't always visible during the broadcast or even in the still photos on the wedding day
Elegance worthy of Westminster Abbey

Kate’s signature chestnut tresses covered the upper back of the dress. Only in this photo can we see the 58 gazar-covered buttons. The waist detail of folds is a modern take on a bustle.
The veil that started a fashion trend.

The veil is shown lifted back, behind the tiara. Made of ivory silk tulle and embroidered with symbolic flowers, Kate's veil seized the imagination of brides, and veil sales are up.
First of many tiaras for Kate.

This tiara surprised royal watchers who had been puzzling over whether Kate would wear a tiara at all, if The Queen would buy one for her (as she did for Sarah Ferguson), or which tiara The Queen might loan. This is a halo-style tiara from the vaults at Buckingham Palace, made by Cartier in 1936 with 1,000 diamonds.
Cinderella's 21st century slippers

Told you these were detailed pictures. Only a mouse in Westminster Abbey could have seen these. Made by the wedding dress designer Sarah Burton, the magic slippers are UK size 5.5 (size 6 in the United States).
Cake fit for two queens.

The last time they saw this cake, Kate and William were cutting it in the light-filled Picture Gallery in Buckingham Palace. British wedding cakes are made of long-lasting fruit cake. One tier was served, and two tiers taken home to save for christening cake for the hoped-for babies. The missing tiers have been replaced for the exhibit.
The first cut at the cake

Prince William and Kate used his regimental sword to slice into their wedding cake. Almost like we were there, isn't it?
A cake rich with symbolism.

A beautiful joint monogram is central, surmounted by floral motifs of rose (England), thistle (Scotland), daffodil (Wales) and shamrock (Ireland). Kate chose 17 bloom designs based on the Victorian Language of Flowers, including lilies of the valley (return of happiness) and Sweet William (the groom, and gallantry).
