On November 3, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment issued an upgrade of the 2014 smash hit The LEGO Movie. The new Blu-ray edition, billed as The Special Special Edition, is available exclusively at Target. The package includes a bonus Blu-ray disc packed with over two hours of new special features.
If you need a reminder, especially with all the LEGO-related video product on the market, this is the theatrical hit The LEGO Movie, nominated for one Academy Award (Best Original Song) and one Golden Globe (Best Animated Feature). As stated in Warner's press notes, the film "stars Chris Pratt as the voice of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, and Will Ferrell as the voice of President Business, aka Lord Business, an uptight CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life."
So what's new and exciting about The Special Special Edition? Quite a bit, so here's a rundown on the new material:
Commentary with Chris Miller, Phil Lord, Chris McKay and Film Crit HULK
The LEGO Movie In 90 Seconds
Wizard Team Go!
How It Should Have Ended - Alternate Ending
How It Should Have Ended - LEGO Super Cafe
Trapped In The Ice: A Short Film
Dream Job: Meet the Master Builders
Unlock the Secrets: The Insider’s Guide to the LEGO Movie
Deleted Scenes
While all of the above is new, the release also contains the bonus content found on the original 2014 Blu-ray release.
